Fourth Grade Class
"As a class, we strive to do our best!"
As stated before, I have begun inputting grades into the parent portal. Please keep in mind that these currently available grades do not reflect all of the graded assignments so far. This is because grading takes significantly longer digitally. I will continue to input and update grades throughout the week so please be on the lookout.
Additionally, a quick shout out to our volunteer room parents for the 4th grade class this year, Mrs. Rodriguez and Mrs. Brown. Thank you both so much for volunteering!
I shall be inputting the first batch of grades in over this upcoming weekend. Please check rediker plus portals on Monday to see your child's grades. I will also be reaching out if there are any students whose grades are at risk of scoring a D or below as we approach the halfway mark of 1st quarter.
Now looking for volunteers for room parents! Any parents that would like to assist as room parents, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Now that the first week of school is out of the way, it's time to get a bit more serious.
I was fairly lenient this first week when it came to coming to zoom class on time, turning assignments in on time, and following expectations during class. Regardless, everyone did an amazing job, came to class relatively in time, turned in all assignments, so let's keep that same momentum going.
Happy first week of school everyone!
Couple quick announcements:
1. Don't forget to log into google classroom for all of your assignments and zoom links today! These will always be posted under the google classroom in the classwork section.
2. Supply pick-up will take place on Tuesday, September 1st at the school from 9:00-11:00 am and 12:00-2:00 pm. Sign ups are not necessary, just drop by and pick up your materials! If you can't make it during those times, please notify me via e-mail.
Thank you everyone who was able to attend the back to school night meeting. Below is the link for the slideshow, I have made the appropriate changes and modifications to the schedule.
In order to meet our end of year goals, starting this week until the end of the school year I will be upping the number of zoom classes from 2 times a week to 3 times a week. This 3rd class will take place on Wednesdays. I am also changing the meeting time to 2:00 pm each of the assigned days.
As you can see, I've been minimizing the amount of announcements here on my website in favor of direct communication over zoom and e-mail correspondence. Therefor I will begin making weekly announcements on my website rather than daily ones.
I will be posting the first set of grades into rediker this Friday night. I wanted to get a nice hand full of assignments graded to put in at one time, so that way the grade data is more accurately representing student progress and it doesn't fluctuate as heavily due to one or two varied assignment grades. I've already sent back some assignments to the students over google classroom, please take a look if you haven't already.
I want to thank everyone for all of the kind shows of appreciation that I've been receiving this week from parents and students alike! I've really enjoyed them and it feels good to know that despite all the craziness in the world right now that we're still able to find positiveness. I also want to let you all know that I recognize and appreciate all of the work that's been being put in by you all during this time. In a way we've all become teachers, whether it's to our children or to ourselves, and are therefore all deserving of appreciation this week as well.
Let's keep up the good work!
The school is having supply pick-up this week and I've put together some books that I'd like the students to retrieve and use for the remainder of this long distance learning.
The times for material pick-up are:
Monday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
This will be a sort of curbside pick up and all materials were handled under sanitary conditions with protective gear and precautions taken.
Students will receive the following books:
- Treasures reading textbook
- Maryland States and Regions Geography textbook
- Spanish textbook
Please come by during one of these times to pick up the listed materials. If you are unable to pick up these materials, please contact me and let me know.
